MAXXIS Shorty - 29 X 2.40 WT Folding 120TPIx2 DD 3C MaxxGrip TR

After gathering years of data and feedback from their World Cup Downhill and Enduro World Series athletes, Maxxis has now completely redesigned the Shorty. The knob layout has been altered to improve wet traction, cornering performance, and mud shedding abilities. The narrower 2.40" casing improves frame and fork clearance for when things get really sloppy and reduces weight.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure. This provides better traction and rolling resistance decreases. And where there is no hose, also decreases the risk of punctures. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for the assembly with sealing milk than others "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bulge of our TR tire is completely covered like a real UST tubeless tires with a rubber layer. Thus, the Schlauchlosmontage is successful for all rims with standard dimensions already at the first inflation and with little liquid.

Wide Trail Casing
Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes tread layout and tyre shape on today's wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and get too angular a shape on wide rims for a less than optimal performance.
WT tyres are optimised for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but function excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 40 mm.

Double Down
DoubleDown (DD) is the next step in the evolution of the dual-ply tire casing for enduro racing. Two 120 TPI casing layers reinforced with a butyl insert provide the enduro racer with the support and protection of a downhill tire, but in a lighter package.
